This website was created to help you more easily navigate to where you need to go with less clicks. Important and more offen used links are located in the quick links menu on the left hand side of every page. 

 

All departments can be found under the Administration menu at the top.

 

Search Box is located at the bottom of every page.

 

Yes the Sitemap is located at the bottom of the page. 

 

Yes, every school infobar has a link to their organizational chart as well at the contact us page which has a link to every schools organizational chart.

 

Yes, you can access the old site by going to old.haverhill-ps.org from any PC. We created this link so that people can find resources from the old site. Please let us know what it is so that we can ensure that it is on the new site for you. This is temporary.

 

Any teacher site on the old website was brought over to the new site to try and minimize downtime for teachers. This does not include Whittier, we are still in the process for Whittier. Regarding new teacher pages, we are still piloting a few teacher site pages and we're waiting for feedback, if you would like to be part of the test, please let us know on through the feedback form.

 

By all means! This website is created for you with input from you! This way we have an organized up to date collection of information for staff, parents, teachers, and students. This way you help out any staff/parent/student in the future looking for the exact same thing by suggesting it.

Student Registration Information


 

 

Please call the Parent Resource and Registration Center at (978) 420-1951 to make an appointment. Registrations are being done by appointment only.

 

The Haverhill Public Schools' Parent Resource and Registration Center is located at

Burnham School, 45 Fountain Street., Haverhill, MA, 01830

 

Go to the Student Registration page located under the Administration Menu -> Student Registration. From here you can print all the forms you need to fill out and bring with you to your registration appointment. Click on Spanish to print the forms in Spanish.

 

The parent or legal guardian must bring:

 Proof of your address such as a rent receipt, utility bill or driver's license

 A copy of your child's birth certificate that we can keep

 A record of your child's shots from the doctor:

o *Hepatitis B - - - 3 doses

o *DTP/DT/Td - - - 5 doses DTP (unless 4th dose given after 4th birthday, then only 4 doses)

o *Polio - - - 4 doses (unless 3rd dose given after 4th birthday, then only 3 doses)

o *MMR - - - 2 doses measles, 1 dose mumps and 1 dose rubella

o *Varicella --- 1 dose or doctor's certification of child's having had chicken pox

o *Proof of lead testing done after 9 months old

o *TB Test ---may be required for immigrants from some foreign countries

o A copy of your child's most recent physical examination

YES. A Parent/Legal Guardian must accompany the student during registration to provide accurate information and to sign necessary forms.

 

The parent or legal guardian must bring:

 Student must have transcript from the last school attended in order to be assigned proper grade level.

 A discipline report from their previous school must be provided. If the child did not have any discipline issues, a statement from the school on their letterhead is sufficient.

A copy of your child's birth certificate that we can keep.

 Proof of Residency (utility bill, mortgage/rent receipt, etc.) Students who do not live in Haverhill cannot attend Haverhill High School without applying for School System of Choice through the Superintendent's Office.

 Immunization Record and copy of most recent physical examination.

 TB screening may be required for immigrants from some foreign countries.

 Students who require Special Education support must have an IEP/504 at time of registration. This information must be provided prior to the day of registration to ensure Special Education staff is available to review the IEP/504.

 Students who require bilingual support will be tested. This information must be provided prior to the day of registration to ensure that staff is available.

Parent/Student Information


 

 

An announcement will be posted on the door of each school one week before the start of school.

 

Go to the Administration Menu -> Transportation -> School Assignments by Street . The look up your street name and the school name is listed by Grades.

 

Go to the Administration Menu -> Transportation -> Bus Routes. There you will find a listing of the bus routes for Primary Schools, Middle Schools and the High School.

 

Each school page contains an Info Bar on the right hand side. There you will find the school telephone number, fax number, school address, hours for school and Main Office Staff.

Student Work Permit Information


 

 

No. Persons under age 14 may not work: There are a few exceptions to this such as working as news carriers, on farms, and in entertainment (with a special permit).

 

Yes. If your child is between ages 14-18 and seeks employment, they must receive a signed work permit from the Superintendent or his or her authorized agent. The signed permit is then given to the employer, who must keep it until you leave the job.

 

The Work Permit Application can be downloaded and printed from this link. You can also obtain a work permit application at the HHS front office or the front desk at Central Office (City Hall room 104).

 

Questions about the Work Permit application should be directed to the Division of Occupational Safety at (617) 626-6952.

You should bring with you proof of your age, such as your birth certificate, passport, or immigration record.

• Operate power-driven machinery (except office machines or machines in retail or food service not otherwise prohibited)

• Cook (except on electric or gas grills that do not have open flames)

• Operate fryolators, rotisseries, NEICO broilers, or pressure cookers

• Operate, clean or repair power-driven food slicers, grinders or choppers

• Perform any baking activities

• Operate microwave ovens (except to heat food in microwave ovens with a maximum capacity of 140 degrees Fahrenheit)

• Clean kitchen surfaces that are hotter than 100 degrees Fahrenheit

• Filter, transport, or dispose of cooking oil or grease hotter than 100 degrees Fahrenheit

• Work in freezers or meat coolers

• Work in a manufacturing facility (e.g., a factory)

• Work on ladders or scaffolds

• Work in garages, except dispensing gas and oil

• Work in brick or lumber yards

• Work in amusement places (e.g., pool or billiard room, or bowling alley)

• Work in barber shops

• Work in construction, transportation, communications, or public utilities (except doing clerical work away from heavy machinery off the job-site)

• Work in warehouses (except doing clerical work)

• Load or unload trucks, railroad cars, or conveyors
